The motorcycle industry and Get On campaign are holding an open day on Saturday 19th June and are calling for support from bikers to introduce potential new riders to the joys of riding motorbikes and scooters.
As part of the National Dealer Open Day, Woking Yamaha will be welcoming existing bikers and potential new bikers into their showroom, offering everyone through the door the chance to win a range of amazing prizes and find out more about riding.
Any biker who brings a friend will be entered into the amazing prize draw which includes off and on road riding holidays in Italy and Spain, as well as well as full sets of kit from top manufacturers Arai, Weise and BKS.
All non bikers, who will have the chance to find out about motorbiking and sign up for the Get On campaign’s free one hour taster session, will be entered into a separate competition with the chance to win a selection of  iPads, iPod nanos and digital cameras.
The National Dealer Open Day is being run by the Get On campaign which aims to get more people on to two wheels and enjoy the many benefits of biking. At the heart of the Get On campaign is the free one hour taster session which is available to anyone over the age of 16 by registering at www.geton.co.uk.
Miles Taylor, Get On Campaign Director, said:The Get On campaign is all about making biking more accessible and the National Dealer Open Day will give public in Woking and throughout Britain the incentive to go into dealers, find out about the many benefits of biking and sign up for a free one hour taster session.
“There are a 1.5 million bikers in the country and the vast majority of these know friends who don’t ride but may be interested in trying it. There’s never been any incentive before for bikers to get their friends on two wheels but we’re looking to change that with the Open Day.
“There’s also a perception that motorbiking is difficult to get into and dealerships can be intimidating places to go for those interested in finding out more about riding. The Open Day will take away those barriers and make bikes more accessible than they have ever been.”
Woking Yamaha is one of 65 dealers throughout Britain signed up to take part in the Get On National Dealer Open Day when the public will be able to enter the main national draw for a huge variety of prizes and sign up for the free one hour taster session as well as taking advantage of a range of great deals and offers which will be available on the day.
If we all introduced just one person to biking, think what it would do for motorcycling in the UK
